What the rate reflects. A founding cohort, convened in partnership with Nerissa, for working PMs in the network. Pricing is held below standard private cohort rates because this room is the foundation of the film/TV pipeline.

What it is not. A studio L&D engagement. This is a closed peer cohort for the PMs who actually carry productions.

Why This Room

The 2023 SAG-AFTRA contract uses the word qualified. It doesn't define it.

Productions are resolving the term on shoot day, with no shared reference. The exposure that follows lands first on the performer, then on the production, then on the PMs holding it all together. The Texture Ready Hair Lead Competency Standard is the operative definition. This cohort is how the PMs who run film and TV sets adopt it before the next show.

The Curriculum

Six domains. Six hours.
One standard you carry on every show.

The full Hair Lead Competency Standard, voiced for the PMs who actually run productions. The credential travels with you, show to show, studio to studio.

Domain 01

Literacy Foundational hair knowledge

Hair types 1 through 4 and the variation within each. Breakage risk, porosity, density, scalp conditions. The vocabulary that lets you hold a hair conversation in a production meeting without flinching.

Domain 02

Fluency Styles & protective styling

Braids, twists, locs, wigs, weaves. Install times, maintenance, refresh costs. The hard numbers you need to plan a schedule, build a budget, and brief a director on what's actually feasible.

Domain 03

Architecture Planning & budget

Pre-casting hair reserve. Call sheet integration. Dressing room standards. Specialist labor day forecasting. The infrastructure decisions you bring to every show you're hired on.

Domain 04

Consent Intake & documented consent

Universal intake delivered to every performer. Consent signed before the first hair call. SAG-AFTRA §10(C) compliance. The paperwork that protects the performer, the production, and you.

Domain 05

Care Performer collaboration

The relational layer. How to hold a hair conversation that isn't an interrogation. How to recognize when silence isn't consent. The part of the work that never makes the call sheet.

Domain 06

Escalation Crisis & stop-the-line

Stop-the-line protocols. Documentation chain. Working knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, IATSE, and AEA contract provisions. The path that lets you raise a hair issue without becoming the bad guy.
